Scripdex has closed

Thank you to all who have tested the beta version of Scripdex.

I have decided to close down Scripdex. Were I to continue offering this Software as a Service (SaaS), my next step would be to use AI to resolve questionable citations (presented by Scripdex as "alerts" for the user to resolve) and begin charging users to cover costs. But the marketplace has changed.

I began building Scripdex in 2022 because I knew of no other tool that built scripture indexes automatically. That is no longer true. At least two newer services now use AI to build scripture indexes as well as subject and name indexes. They have teams behind them, while Scripdex has one aging developer and no successor. I wish them — and any new teams who enter this space — every success as the gap closes between SaaS and frontier LLM models.
